“Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.” ― John Lubbock
I’m not really into cosmetics. I am happy with my lipstick and eyeliner combo. If the weather is too hot, then I’m adding baby powder to that routine because of my oily skin. I can’t use foundation or anything of that sort because it makes my face itchy. I love to wear eye makeup though. However, my super sensitive eyes just can’t stand it for long hours. Both my skin and my eyes are totally not in favour of me, being a beauty junkie. So forget about me, having a full makeup. Also, I prefer having a simple, naked face rather than having a face covered with thick makeup. Not that I’m bitter or anything, but I appreciate simple beauty more over improvised ones. I like natural beauty because it’s something that can’t be washed off. I’m not even using Photoshop to have flawless skin in my photos because hello? Having no pores at all in the photos doesn’t look human at all?
I love playing with filters though.
My photo filter, my lipstick and my sunnies are my main cosmetic. These things not only highlight the look I portray but also help me in terms of building my creative side – cos you know, I wasn’t really showered with so much talent, not even with enough creativity. 😛 They’re also my major accessories since I don’t wear too much accessories, together with a watch, my wedding ring and (occasional) necklace.
I’m talking about makeup because I’m not fully made up in the outfit photos that I’m going to share with you today. When I say fully made up, it only involves thick coat of lipstick and my outfit, of course – as I have mentioned above, my main fashion staple.
We had a family dinner first before doing the shoot and I completely forgot to bring a lipstick with me. Also, I was playing with our little princess, the youngest and the only niece in the family. She’s a 5-year-old little kiddo who thinks that she’s still a small baby that she was on my lap the whole time. She’s actually my little shadow as she wants to be with me all the time. I think she likes me because I’m always letting her eat chocolates. Oops, sorry, Mommy A! 😀
So that’s the reason behind my pale and exhausted face in the photos. Anyways, with the help of my brutal way of giving instructions, my wife did a great job on making the photos blog-ready enough. Brutal, because I was violently criticising her in a very harsh manner the whole time while giving tips on how to make the photos right. LOL. 😀 Poor, love. :*
