“If we never experience the chill of a dark winter, it is very unlikely that we will ever cherish the warmth of a bright summer’s day. Nothing stimulates our appetite for the simple joys of life more than the starvation caused by sadness or desperation. In order to complete our amazing life journey successfully, it is vital that we turn each and every dark tear into a pearl of wisdom, and find the blessing in every curse.”― Anthon St. Maarten
I can’t believe that ten days from now, I’d be celebrating my birthday again. Another year will be added to my age and yet here I am.. still looking like 16 years old. Haha! (Half) Kidding!
Any plans for my birthday?
Supposedly yes. But unfortunately, we’re short in time. I have learned just today that planning a holiday getaway here in Germany cannot be done right away. It’s either house for rents via Airbnb are fully booked or they don’t accommodate short stay. As what was said in our class last Monday, ‘Deutsche Leute sind Freizeit Weltmeister’. In English translation, ‘Germans are leisure world champion’, which is VERY TRUE. I’ve only been to Poland and Spain but my stay in these two countries felt like I never left Germany. What’s good about this is that companies here allow employees to consume up to 30-days straight vacation leaves. Unlike in the Philippines, employees are only allowed maximum of 3days in a month.
Going back to my birthday plans, I initially wanted to spend it together with my second family by the sea in Scharbeutz, which is situated on the Bay of Lübeck (Baltic Sea). I miss my homeland so much that’s why thinking about the sea makes me feel connected. It’s very unfortunate though to think that it won’t be possible for us to go there on my birthday. Anyways, I’m not forcing this to happen anymore because I have a strong feeling that the scenery would be like this:
Eww! Que horror, right?? This photo was even captured June 7! So, better NOT. If this is the case, then I would rather wait for 6 months till we get to PH. There, we can even have the sea all by ourselves because there are so many private resorts available and can be booked any time we want.
So, meanwhile –– here are the photos taken on the day when the sun was so mad, almost burning us alive – which made me think about beaching! Featuring these cutesy sandals, which I never had a chance wearing because I purchased them at Deichmann end of summer last year and it was already freezing cold! Today’s outfit also features these shorts from Zaful.
