[tips] 3 ways to wear gingham or check patterns

“Elegance is a glowing inner peace. Grace is an ability to give as well as to receive and be thankful. Mystery is a hidden laugh always ready to surface! Glamour only radiates if there is a sublime courage & bravery within: glamour is like the moon; it only shines because the sun is there.”― C. JoyBell C.

Dearest Lovelies,

When I set out to write this blog post, I had no idea what I was in for. I mean, it’s gingham: Do I even own a set of clothes in check pattern? I’m not even sure if I have one. But thanks to my playful, creative self. I’ve come up with short tips and simple outfit ideas on how to wear checkered clothes.

Keep reading to see 3 of my favorite gingham outfits, which I personally picked and styled for you!

Plains and Prints

I think the safest way to wear a checkered pattern is by pairing it with plain outfit accessories. If I am going to have a gingham skirt one day, then I will accentuate it with bold black. And I have that habit of sprinkling my outfit with a bit of playfulness. Notice that little thing that amps up the entire look. Yep, these metal sun designed sunnies are just wonderful. I like how the style of these sunnies injects a splash of edginess in this simple look.

Mixed prints

In this outfit combo, I’ve teamed the gingham cropped tank top with a pair of striped wide leg pants. As mentioned above, I like to match prints with plain colored accessories, such as this heart choker and black leather backpack. I love the comfort I get from wearing slipons so this pair of pointed toe leather slippers is just perfect and classy. I’ve chosen these gorgeous vintage drop earrings to make the look less boring. It’s actually my most favorite item in this look because it’s the smallest yet it creates a huge difference to the entire outfit. My kind of trick when dressing up.

Weekend wear

The word weekend is equivalent to laziness so choosing a romper is (I guess) self-explanatory. 😀 Plain onesies look less appealing so having it in gingham makes it stylish. Just do hope though you never have to pee for the rest of the day when you decide to wear one. LOL. I own a couple of one-piece clothing (in fact, I’m a fan) so I totally know the struggle. I like to wear them for grocery shopping or activities that don’t involve spending long hours outside, most especially if it’s about drinking session. If you’re the type of person who uses the bathroom a lot when drinking, then, wearing a romper is a major no-no for you. Change this part of this post into a dress instead. 😀
